Lent 2017: Feasting with God

All-Age Brunch and Lenten Calendar Creation Extravaganza

February 28, Noon, to March 1, Noon: 
Fasting with God 
(Those who are able will forego food for 24 hours, as we empty our stomachs and open our hearts to the Spirit. We will also give the money we would have spent on meals to Lutheran World Hunger.) 

March 1, Ash Wednesday, marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. This year we study Holy Communion in Luther’s Small Catechism, and talk about “Feasting with God.”  Ash Wednesday Services will be held at 12:00 p.m.(Noon) and 7:00 p.m.
 
 Activities for Feasting with God
We encourage you to participate in any and all of the following:

• Weekly Sunday Morning Worship: We explore what makes Holy Communion so important for us.
• Meal Groups: Hosted in members’ homes at least two times in the Lenten season.  (Sign up to host if you are able to host one or more times.)
• Lenten Book Reading: Bread and Wine: A Love Letter to Life around the Table with Recipes
  by Shauna Niequist (for those participating
  in Wednesday activities at Noon and/or
  7:00 p.m. and Meal Groups)
• Wednesday, Noon Soup & Study: Feasting with God (God, Food, & Faith)
• Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. Lenten Worship
•  Movies with a Moral: Chocolat and Babette’s Feast (dates and times to be announced)
• Seder Celebration for the whole congregation in Holy Week
